    Re: Jan/Feb Lan

I think the biggest problem is numbers. Internet's so good nowadays that its easier, more convenient and cheaper to game from home, and bandwith isnt too much of an issue anymore.

Fact: We are all sick of being 1 row of us gamers down the front then 8 rows of CS nubs up the back.

Fact: Admins like Wolfie arent interested in admining anymore. They have other better things to do and admining takes time, effort and usually doesnt pay, espeically when you keep a real job as well.

Fact: Most games worth playing are easily run online and the $15 on our heads plus the excess the admins usually have to fork out cos the door fee doesnt cover everything isnt worth it

Fact: Lanners are a dying breed unfortunately.

=( Why put it so harshly.

    Daisy: He's been abducted?
Tim: Yeah by a crocodile or something.
    Daisy: A crocodile?!
    Tim: Or something.

Just thought I'd clear that up a little. I still put heaps of effort into home lans, trying diff ded servers and mods out so that when everyone rocks up there's something quality ready to go.

I meant big lans that require lots of planning and administration. I am quite aware that you still admin wolflan, and i meant it as a bit of a generalisation for admins. The motherlan admins called it quits too. you were just on this thread :D

    Re: Jan/Feb Lan

this topic and forum is not a waste of forever-never ending space..

but it sure is a waste of time for me to remember my fkn password just to type this,

get over it, seige or gs aint coming back, too many people thinking that they know what they, and fellow gamers/leechers want.

people stoped going to gs cuz you all thought people wanted to go just to game. if you all stoped with your rules we may have stayed.

you should have banned any little ..... under the age of 18. got people in that had a income and had a decent bloody machine to game with.

too many rules, too many 13 year old loser noobs, and not enough true gamers around to keep this *** alive.

i think you all should just try and hold a 20 man lan see how ya go,
come back and tell us that you had one it was a raging success and that would be 20 people we could have on a list of people that may come to a lan one day.
after 3 people have come on saying this, its obvious that you have 60 ppl possibly in for LAN

Come on guys do we need the agro and the nasty? We all come together to enjoy the gaming...

I say that LAN's and big ones, are still workable, as long as we have people who are prepared to pitch in to help manage them...

Obviously some ground rules would need to be put in place (perhaps min stats for pc's etc for gaming) and leech limitations etc... *Shrugs*

Its definitely worth looking into... I am happy to help run these events, who wants to help?

no lans have been scheduled for multiple reasons. I'm sure that random chatter of 3 or even 4 people is going to alter the situation at hand. best bet is get 3-5 guys and get some home lan style co-op action or maybe beat up on a wow player. if any updates or organized events are made they will be posted, although for now just dont F*&#KING rez dead threads.

If you weren't an annoying *** maybe you'd get invited to one of the numerous private lans held.

The day that I quote Poke__egg saying something funny cometh! (could be a while though, he's a lamer ^_^ kekeke)

So just to add, its been a good year or so since I been to this site, but we, me and about 6 other guys have just started LANing again, and would be up for some larger LAN action if someone was going to hold one, don't have much to offer but time and support. rj
